Terms of Service

Simple, straightforward terms for using QRForge. No legal jargon, just what you need to know.

What QRForge Is

QRForge is a free service that lets you create QR codes and shorten URLs. We keep it simple - no accounts required, no complicated features, just the tools you need to make professional QR codes and clean short links.

Using Our Service

What you can do: Create QR codes, shorten URLs, download your codes, and share them however you want. Use them for business, personal projects, events - whatever makes sense for you.

What you can't do: Don't use QRForge for anything illegal, harmful, or that violates other people's rights. Don't try to break our service or use it to spam people. Basically, be decent.

Content responsibility: You're responsible for what you put in your QR codes and where your links go. We don't monitor every QR code, but we'll remove stuff that's clearly problematic if we find it.

Your QR Codes and Links

Ownership: The QR codes you create are yours. The content you put in them is yours. We just provide the tools to make them.

Permanence: We aim to keep your shortened URLs working forever, but we can't guarantee it. Technology changes, servers fail, companies close. We'll do our best, but keep backups of important stuff.

Removal: We might need to remove QR codes or disable links that violate these terms, are reported as harmful, or cause technical problems.

Privacy and Data

We collect minimal data - just what we need to make the service work and improve it. Check our Privacy Policy for the full details, but the short version is: we don't sell your data or track you across the web.

Service Availability

Uptime: We work hard to keep QRForge running smoothly, but sometimes things break. We'll fix problems as quickly as we can, but we can't promise 100% uptime.

Changes: We might update features, change how things work, or add new capabilities. We'll try not to break existing functionality, but sometimes improvements require changes.

Free service: QRForge is free, which means we can't offer the same guarantees as paid services. We're committed to keeping it running, but use it accordingly.

Disclaimers

No warranties: QRForge works as-is. We can't guarantee it'll work perfectly for every use case or that it'll never have problems.

Your responsibility: Test your QR codes before using them for important stuff. Make sure they work on the devices your audience uses. Keep backups of critical information.

Third-party content: QR codes often link to other websites or services. We're not responsible for what happens on those other sites.

Limitation of Liability

If something goes wrong with QRForge that causes you problems, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us (which is zero, since the service is free). We're not responsible for lost business, missed opportunities, or other indirect damages.

This might sound harsh, but it's standard for free services and helps us keep QRForge running without charging fees.

Changes to These Terms

We might update these terms occasionally. If we make significant changes, we'll update the date at the top and might add a notice on the site. Continuing to use QRForge after changes means you accept the new terms.

Contact and Disputes

If you have questions about these terms or issues with the service, we're happy to help work things out. Most problems can be resolved through reasonable discussion.

These terms are governed by the laws where QRForge operates. If we can't resolve a dispute through discussion, it would be handled in the appropriate courts.

The Bottom Line

Use QRForge responsibly, don't abuse it, and remember it's a free service. We'll do our best to keep it running smoothly and treat your data with respect. If you have questions, check our FAQ first.
