Allow guests to connect to your WiFi network instantly by scanning a QR code
WiFi QR codes allow guests to connect to your wireless network instantly without manually entering the network name and password. Perfect for homes, offices, restaurants, and events.
Current WiFi String:
WIFI:T:WPA;S:MyWiFiNetwork;P:MyPassword123;H:false;;The network name (SSID) and password are exactly what you'd type when connecting a new device.
Most routers have a sticker on the bottom or back with the default network name and password (often labeled SSID and WPA key or Wireless Key). If you never changed them, that's what goes in the form.
Settings → Network & internet → Wi-Fi → your network → View Wi-Fi security key. On older versions: Network and Sharing Center → Wireless Properties → Security → Show characters.
Mac: Passwords app (or Keychain Access) → find your network → show password. iPhone (iOS 16+): Settings → Wi-Fi → tap the ⓘ next to your network → Password.
Settings → Network & internet → Internet → your network → Share. Android shows the password below its own QR code (which you can also scan directly into the form).
Almost every network today is WPA/WPA2/WPA3 — pick WPA unless you know otherwise. WEP only appears on very old routers. Open means no password at all (airports, cafes).
If your router offers a guest network, make the QR code for that instead of your main one. Visitors get internet, your own devices stay on a separate network, and you can change the guest password without reprinting anything else.
You'll need your network name (SSID), password, and security type.
